Bashar Abdullah, the Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports in Kuwait, announced on Friday that the achievements of Kuwaiti athletes in the fifth edition of the Asian Paralympic Games (Aichi Nagoya 2026), which began on the 18th of this month and continued until Saturday, demonstrate the cohesion and integrity of Kuwait's sports system. This system supports champions under a unified standard.

Honors in the Paralympics

Abdullah expressed his deep pride in the gold medal won by Faisal Sarour in the F42 shot put competition with a new record of 16.06 meters, as well as the silver medal by Malik Al-Anzi in the F54 shot put competition with a throw of 4.98 meters and the bronze medal by Dhari Al-Bati in the F37 shot put competition with a throw of 12.53 meters. He considered these achievements not only a reflection of the athletes' capabilities but also a source of pride for sports in Kuwait.

Commitment to Supporting Champions

Abdullah emphasized that these achievements are a testament to the organization's commitment to empowering its champions and providing the best conditions for competition in major international events. He noted that any success that raises the Kuwaiti flag internationally serves as motivation for developing programs and turning success stories into models for future generations.

He also stated that "the sports system supports Kuwaiti champions through technical training, training camps abroad, and logistical and medical support to ensure full readiness for continental and international competitions."

Abdullah also pointed out that athletes with special needs are an active part of the social structure and partners in the development process, and their achievements in sports represent an inspiring presence in the fields of work and services. He emphasized that the organization will continue to support its successful champions, strengthen its partnerships with sports federations, and expand the scope of international collaborations in the future.
