Carlos Queiroz, the Portuguese coach and a well-known figure in the world of football, has emerged as a serious candidate to lead the Bahrain national team. This coach, who has a history of managing various national teams, is seeking a new challenge in Asian football after terminating his contract with the Ghana Football Association.
Carlos Queiroz's Background and Recent Challenges
Queiroz recently terminated his contract with the Ghana Football Association due to the disappointing results of the team in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. The Ghana national team lost its first two matches against Ivory Coast and Gambia, leading to pressure on the Portuguese coach. Queiroz, who has experience managing various national teams throughout his coaching career, is currently looking for an opportunity to return to the global football stage.
Negotiations with the Bahrain Football Association
A source close to Queiroz has stated that the coach has begun serious negotiations with the Bahrain Football Association to accept the leadership of the national team. He also views the 2027 AFC Asian Cup as a goal for his future successes. It is reported that Queiroz has held a meeting with the officials of the Bahrain Football Association to reach a final agreement to lead the national team. These negotiations are likely to yield results in the coming days.
Queiroz, who has previously worked with the national teams of the UAE, Egypt, Qatar, and Oman, will experience his fifth opportunity to lead an Arab national team if this agreement is finalized. The Bahrain Football Association is currently seeking a replacement for Dragan Talajić, their Croatian coach, who is close to being dismissed due to the national team's disappointing performance in the Gulf Cup.
This change in the coaching staff of the Bahrain national team could have a significant impact on the future of the team and its performance in international competitions. Bahrain, which is looking to elevate its football level and achieve better results in upcoming competitions, hopes that by selecting Queiroz as the new head coach, it can get closer to its goals.
