Sultan Haitham bin Tariq recently met with President Duma Gideon Boko of the Republic of Botswana at the presidential palace in Gaborone. This meeting was part of the Sultan of Oman's official visit to the Republic of Botswana and emphasized the friendly and historical relations between the two countries.
Strengthening Oman-Botswana Relations
During this meeting, the importance of strengthening and developing bilateral relations for the benefit of the people of both countries was emphasized. Both sides stressed that further cooperation could lead to mutual benefits and facilitate cultural and economic exchanges.

Official Talks and Areas of Cooperation
Following this meeting, a more extensive official session was held under the chairmanship of the Sultan and the President of Botswana. This session focused on reviewing existing areas of cooperation between the two countries and ways to strengthen them. The discussed areas included renewable energy, mining, investment, logistics, food security, and agriculture.
In this session, the Omani delegation included prominent figures such as HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Royal Court; and other high-ranking officials. From Botswana, key officials such as Nda Ba Nxesinati Gaolat, Vice President and Minister of Finance, and other ministers of the country were present at the meeting.
This meeting reflects the determination and will of both countries to advance and develop cooperation in various fields and can help strengthen economic and political relations between Oman and Botswana.
After the negotiations concluded, the Sultan of Oman noted his warm words in the VIP guest book, and commemorative gifts were exchanged between him and the President of Botswana, reflecting the depth of friendship between the two countries.
