Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Monday claimed the lives of three Palestinians and injured several others. Health officials in the area reported that two individuals were killed in two separate airstrikes in Khan Younis, located in the south of the strip, while a third person lost their life in an attack in the city of Al-Masdar.
Rising Tensions and Airstrikes
Israeli military forces did not respond quickly to these attacks. This comes as Israel believes that Hamas is rebuilding its weapons and conducting attacks that violate a year-long ceasefire, with recent weeks seeing an increase in attacks on this group. Hamas has denied these claims and accuses Israel of undermining the peace agreement in Gaza.

Ceasefire Agreement and Humanitarian Situation in Gaza
The ceasefire agreement, signed under the supervision of the United States, calls for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, but little progress has been made in this regard. Negotiators have yet to reach an agreement on conditions that would lead to the disarmament of Hamas and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from two-thirds of this territory. Residents of this strip, which has a population of over two million, live in difficult conditions, primarily in tents and damaged buildings amid the ruins of war.
Since the ceasefire, at least 1,580 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza, while Israel has reported that four of its soldiers lost their lives in these attacks. Palestinian officials have also stated that over 74,000 people have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza, which began after armed groups from Hamas attacked southern Israel on October 7, 2023.
Humanitarian and Political Consequences
This situation has not only led to the destruction of infrastructure and a worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza but has also severely strained relations between Israel and Hamas. The continuation of these conflicts could exacerbate crises in the region and make international cooperation and diplomatic efforts to improve the humanitarian and political situation in Gaza even more necessary.
