Kimi Antonelli (Kimi Antonelli) became the youngest champion in Formula One history at the age of 20 years and 68 days. This historic achievement came on Sunday at the Mexican Grand Prix, where he finished third and thus secured his championship.
Setting a new record in Formula One history
With this championship, Antonelli broke the previous record held by Sebastian Vettel from Germany, who became champion at the age of 23 in 2010. Additionally, he is the first Italian Formula One champion since 1953.

Emotions after the race
After the race, Antonelli said: "I am in shock. I am trying to process what has happened." He experienced amazing moments alongside his family, especially his parents and sister. He continued: "This has been an incredible season, and sharing this podium with Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton is truly amazing. I look forward to the future and more competitions."
With 380 points and four races remaining, Antonelli was able to secure his championship ahead of schedule. While Max Verstappen (Max Verstappen) and Lewis Hamilton (Lewis Hamilton) are also competing for second and third places, Antonelli's outstanding performance this season allowed him to claim the championship title.
The Mexican race was disrupted on lap 45 due to a crash involving Valtteri Bottas (Valtteri Bottas), but Antonelli managed to show a relatively smooth performance. Ultimately, Verstappen solidified his position at this track with his sixth victory at the Mexican Grand Prix.
After the race in Mexico, Formula One will head to Brazil and then to Las Vegas. The final two races are scheduled in Qatar and Abu Dhabi, but due to geopolitical instabilities in the region, their holding remains uncertain.
