Morne Morkel, the bowling coach of the Indian national team, emphasized that Vaibhav Suriyavanshi's presence in the national team environment will play a crucial role in his development, regardless of his immediate playing opportunities in the first T20I against the West Indies national team on Tuesday.

Decision-Making Based on the Best Combination

Morne Morkel stated that decisions regarding player combinations will be made by the selectors, head coach Gautam Gambhir, and the captain, based on the best combination for India's World Cup campaign. He also added that practicing alongside experienced international players and observing their preparation methods will help Vaibhav adapt to the high level of the game.

The Importance of a Learning Environment for Youth

Morne Morkel, in a pre-match press conference, said: "We are all aware of Vaibhav's talent. I believe that the more time he spends in this environment with quality players, the better it will be for his cricket. Even if he doesn't get playing time, he will still be on the bus, alongside experienced players in the dressing room and hotel. These interactions and observing the processes of the game and how to set up innings will be very key for him."

Morne also emphasized the importance of creating a suitable environment for young players to learn and encouraged them to carefully observe the behavior of their experienced teammates during practice, understand their approaches and game plans, and ask questions. He believes that such experiences can help young players learn, grow, and build a strong mindset for their future.

He added: "I believe that if players are placed in the right environment and can ask the right questions and observe, they can learn well. I always ask them to watch closely how players perform in practice. This is very important for every young player, whether they get playing time or not. We must ensure that these young players learn, grow, and ask questions. This is an incredible roadmap for growth for me."

Three days after winning a gold medal at the Asian Games in Japan, India will focus on a five-match T20I series against the West Indies at home.
