Oman is preparing to participate in ten sports at the 2026 Asian Games (Aichi Nagoya), which will be held from September 19 to October 4, 2026, in Japan. This event, as one of the most important sports competitions in Asia, provides a suitable opportunity to showcase the sporting capabilities of Oman and strengthen cultural and sports relations among Asian countries.
Sports and Details of Oman's Participation
The Sultanate of Oman will compete in various sports, including athletics, taekwondo, shooting, hockey, golf, fencing, cricket, weightlifting, sailing, and beach volleyball. With this participation, Oman aims to leverage the experiences and capabilities of its athletes to achieve remarkable results in these competitions.

Currently, the Omani delegation has arrived in Nagoya with the necessary preparations, and comprehensive plans have been made to ensure the success of the athletes in this edition. For example, the national hockey team will participate in the competitions from September 18 to October 3 with 10 players and 8 members of the technical and managerial staff.
Logistics and Preparations
The head of the Omani delegation, Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Rahbi, has announced that all administrative arrangements have been made to create a suitable environment for Omani sports teams. He added that since their arrival in Nagoya, continuous meetings have been held with the organizing committee to review all details related to the accommodation and transportation of the teams. For instance, the weightlifting team will stay on leisure boats, while other teams will be accommodated in designated areas.
Al-Rahbi also referred to the plans for the opening ceremony, stating that on Wednesday, a welcoming ceremony for the delegations will be held at the Olympic Village, which will include raising the flags of the participating countries and playing the national anthem of Oman.
Omani sports teams are not only seeking to win gold medals but are also looking to raise awareness and strengthen cultural relations with other Asian countries. This event serves as a platform for cultural and sports exchange between nations.
