Arab Women's Championship
The fifteenth edition of the Muscat Sailing Week will coincide with the hosting of the third Arab Women's Championship. This competition, held in collaboration with the Oman Marine Sports Committee and the Arab Sailing Federation, is expected to attract around 30 female sailors in the Optimist, ILCA 4, and ILCA 6 classes. This event emphasizes the growth and advancement of women's sailing in the Arab world.
The Muscat Sailing Week will be held at the Muscat Sailing School, a quality (A) performance center, providing young sailors the opportunity to improve their skills alongside their international peers and reinforcing Oman Sail's mission to nurture local talents.
Hamid Al-Yahmadi, project manager of the Muscat Sailing Week, stated: "Reaching the fifteenth edition of the Muscat Sailing Week is a significant milestone for Oman Sail and a sign of the sustainable success of this event. Over the past 15 years, this event has become a prestigious sailing festival and a global platform for youth development."
This event will kick off on October 15 with registration and measurement, and competitions will begin on October 18. Competitors in various classes will take to the water, and the event will conclude on October 21 with an awards ceremony and closing event.
The Muscat Sailing Week will also contribute to Oman Sail's environmental commitments as a clean and eco-friendly event. This event will include a ban on single-use plastics and recycling programs at the event level.
