The Oman Makers Center launched the first session of the 'Oman Makers' series on Tuesday at the Muscat Innovation Complex. This program is designed to promote a culture of innovation and production and facilitate the exchange of experiences and knowledge among innovators, makers, and entrepreneurs.
Knowledge Exchange and Strengthening Innovation
The 'Oman Makers' sessions create a space for dialogue among individuals with expertise and experience alongside innovators and entrepreneurs. These sessions contribute to the exchange of knowledge and experiences, stimulate innovation, and enhance the participants' capacities to develop ideas and turn them into producible prototypes and products.
The first session titled 'Oman Makers' addressed topics related to the journey of transforming ideas into products, developing prototypes, and moving from pilot models to producible and commercialized products. Additionally, topics such as industrial localization, the use of modern technologies, artificial intelligence, and drones, as well as the opportunities and challenges facing innovators and entrepreneurs, were discussed.
Collaboration for Prototype Development
The Oman Makers Center is the result of collaboration between the 'Research and Innovation Organization' and the 'Public Authority for Industrial Estates' (Madayn), representing the 'Industrial Innovation Academy'. This center acts as an integrated platform for developing experimental prototypes, which is considered the initial step before entering the commercial market of project ideas.
The center's goal is to train entrepreneurs and innovators in utilizing the devices and equipment available at the center, strengthen collaboration and experience exchange, and assist innovators in developing producible final prototypes. These efforts aim to create a strong and sustainable ecosystem in the field of innovation and production in Oman.
