The second round of the International Roll Race of Ilham Kuwait started on Thursday at the Kuwait Motorcycle Racing Track in Arifjan, in the south of the country. This event features 290 participants across 11 different categories and will continue for two days. These competitions are part of the youth and sports season in Kuwait.

Development and Expansion of Motorsports

Dr. Falah Al-Mahoush, President of Ilham Club, announced that the roll race competitions, or speed races for cars and motorcycles, are increasingly attracting many participants from across the Gulf region. He considered this a sign of growing interest in motorsports and emphasized the need for further development of these competitions and the expansion of local and regional participation.

Future Plans of Ilham Club

Dr. Al-Mahoush also announced plans to hold additional local rounds in 2027, one of which will take place on March 25 and 26, and another on April 1 and 2. These plans are designed to provide more opportunities for competitors and strengthen the presence of motorsports throughout the season. He also noted that the current competitions include a series of side events, including booths, food trucks, family areas, and a special zone for children's games.

He added that at the suggestion of Dr. Tarek Al-Jalahma, Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, the club will soon hold the first roll bike competition in the Middle East for children and youth under 18 years old. The aim of this initiative is to identify young talents and nurture their skills in a structured and safe environment.

Dr. Al-Mahoush thanked Dr. Al-Jalahma for his support and attention to motorsports and referenced the presence of Sheikh Mubarak Faisal Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Vice President of the Kuwait Olympic Committee. He considered this support a means to encourage further development of motorsports and increase the participation of Kuwaiti youth in sports competitions and enhance the standards of event organization.

He concluded by emphasizing that the success of these competitions reflects the efforts of the club's board, organizing committees, and technical and administrative teams who, in cooperation with the Kuwait Motorcycle Racing Track and other relevant entities, organized an event that met all technical, organizational, safety, and security requirements.
