The Sultanate of Oman successfully launched the experimental rocket 'Azad Dreamer' (Azad Dreamer) from the Duqm Spaceport. This launch is part of a mission called 'Karman X1' and demonstrates significant advancements in the country's space technology.

Launch Details and Technical Features

The 'Azad Dreamer' rocket, which is 4.3 meters long and weighs 26 kilograms, took off from the launch pad on a stable and ascending trajectory. During this flight, the rocket's motion data was accurately transmitted to the control center at the spaceport. This mission specifically focused on testing the launch process and the rocket's performance during flight, as well as examining the technologies and systems used.

The 'Karman X1' Mission and International Collaborations

The 'Karman X1' mission is considered the second successful launch from the Duqm Spaceport, following the success of the 'Duqm-1' mission in December 2024. The team based at the spaceport was responsible for integrating the rocket components and managing safety during the launch process. Ezan bin Qais Al Said, the Executive Director of the Duqm Spaceport, noted that this mission marks the first collaboration between an Omani company named 'Stellar Kinetics MCT' and the Singaporean company 'Okulu Space', while the rocket's payload was also provided by the Australian company 'Orbit to Orbit'.

The 'Takwin' program, established in 2024 by the Duqm Spaceport, aims to facilitate the launch operations of suborbital and experimental rockets. This program focuses on speed, efficiency, cost reduction, and the ability to adapt to challenges. These achievements represent the determination and will of the Sultanate of Oman in developing space technologies and creating the necessary infrastructure for this emerging industry in the region.

With its human and natural resources, the Sultanate of Oman is currently seeking to become a key player in the global space technology arena. Given these successes, it is expected that Oman will be able to establish more collaborations with other countries in the field of space research and the development of related technologies in the near future.
