Omar Al-Omar, Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Acting Minister of Information and Culture of Kuwait, stated in an interview with Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that these two victories highlight Kuwait's progress in the development of digital government services. He said, "We dedicate this success to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, for their continuous support of digital transformation."
Integrated Services for Citizens
Minister Al-Omar added that these awards affirm the success of the Soheil application's approach in moving from individual services to integrated digital journeys designed around the needs of citizens. The Newborn Journey involves the collaboration of seven entities, including the ministries of Justice, Health, Interior, and Commerce and Industry, the General Department of Civil Information, the General Department of Labor, and the Civil Service Commission, facilitating processes related to newborns.
He continued that the Soheil application will continue to expand its digital journeys and will leverage artificial intelligence and proactive services. Bashar Al-Sayed Hashem, Chairman of the Soheil Executive Committee, also announced that this application has currently gathered services from 42 government entities on a single platform.
Fajr Al-Yasain, a committee member, noted that the Newborn Journey is designed to consider the needs of families, eliminating the need for them to interact with each entity separately. Meanwhile, Amna Abdulrahim, another committee member, attributed the success of this initiative to the linkage of systems and data sharing between entities to reduce repetitive processes and documentation.
The Soheil application has also been recognized in the Arab Government Excellence Awards and the Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Award in 2025.
