In the past six months, America has faced serious challenges in military and diplomatic power. Once recognized as a symbol of global military superiority with the best equipment and most trained forces, it now seems inadequate against Iran and its inexpensive weaponry. This situation clearly indicates the decline of American power and its inability to maintain its global dominance.
Military and Strategic Challenges for America
Since 1980, America has played its role as the guarantor of freedom of navigation in the Persian Gulf. However, currently, despite losing many of its leaders, Iran remains strong and has managed to pressure many American facilities with missile and drone attacks. Just two weeks after the war began, 17 American bases and diplomatic centers were targeted, including the Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain and military bases in Kuwait.

The loss of Bahrain has severely impacted America's logistics, forcing its supply line to retreat to Diego Garcia, a British island 3,200 kilometers from the Strait of Hormuz. This has significantly affected the morale of American forces, and Admiral Caldwell has explicitly stated that a return to Bahrain is unlikely in the near future.
Changes in Global Power Balance
America is currently reducing its military equipment inventory in the Pacific, with the USS George Washington, which is usually stationed in Japan, being deployed to the Arabian Sea. This strategic shift has not only negatively impacted America's deterrence against China but has also significantly reduced the inventory of defense systems like THAAD and Patriot.
Currently, America is facing a severe shortage of military equipment, and returning to pre-war levels will take years. While China, as one of America's main rivals, produces almost half of the world's ships and 80 percent of its drones, America faces serious challenges in military production and reserves.
Other countries are also changing their relationships and alliances. Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia have signed joint defense pacts, and Oman is moving closer to Tehran. In Europe, Germany is considering helping modernize Britain's nuclear weapons to maintain its deterrence in case of a U.S. withdrawal.
These developments indicate strong signs of declining trust among countries in America's capabilities and intentions. Given the emergence of East Asia as the center of global economic production and China's problems, the world may enter a chaotic period of new wars and rivalries.
Ultimately, it seems that the era of American dominance has come to an end, and this country must adapt to new global realities.
