Ali Nikzad, Vice President of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, announced during a visit to the ongoing projects of the World Heritage site of Sheikh Safi al-Din Ardabili that a budget line of 1,410 billion rials has been established for this historical complex. This action is taken to protect and preserve the valuable cultural heritage of the country.
The Historical Importance of Sheikh Safi al-Din Ardabili
The World Heritage site of Sheikh Safi al-Din Ardabili is recognized as one of the most important historical sites in Iran. This complex is significant not only in terms of architecture and art but also as a symbol of the history of religion and politics in Iran. The martyr leader of the Islamic Revolution, during a visit to this complex in 1379, referred to it as a manifestation of religion, politics, and art, and deemed it the government's duty to protect it.

Nikzad added: "This budget line has also been established for the year 1405, and the approved budget for this historical site will be allocated from this year's funds. The General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Ardabil Province, as the responsible entity, is obliged to spend the funds with the aim of preserving, reviving, organizing, and introducing this complex."
Ongoing Projects and Their Impact
Furthermore, the Vice President of the Islamic Consultative Assembly spoke about various projects currently underway in this complex with a budget of 1,404 billion rials. He emphasized that these projects could create a significant transformation in the protection and preservation of this historical site. Nikzad also pointed to the historical importance of Ardabil and its role in formalizing the Shia religion in Iran, stating that the protection of the precious Safavid heritage is a duty upon all of us.
These actions and the allocation of funds for cultural heritage demonstrate the government's special attention to preserving the historical and cultural identity of the country. Nikzad emphasized that all efforts should be directed towards the preservation and revival of these valuable works so that future generations can benefit from them.
