The exhibition "Silver Shine: Treasures from the Oman Court" was inaugurated today at the State Museum of the History of Religion in the Republic of Belarus. This event marks the third stop of this exhibition in Belarus; the first stop was at the National Art Museum of Belarus in the capital, Minsk, in December 2025, and the second stop was at the Vitebsk Regional Museum in July 2026.
Introduction to Omani Silver Culture
This exhibition displays the facets of Omani silver as a historical art and showcases a collection of objects related to the Sultans of Oman in Muscat and Zanzibar. The exhibition will continue until November 20, 2026, and serves as a continuation of the previous exhibition at the National Art Museum in Minsk.

The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of Her Excellency Dr. Mona Fahd Al Said, Vice President of Sultan Qaboos University for International Cooperation and Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the National Museum. The event was also attended by Yuri Khajimuratovich Karaif, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Grodno Region, along with several officials and cultural and museum enthusiasts in Belarus.
Various Sections of the Exhibition
This exhibition includes five main sections: the Omani dagger, the culture of perfume, silver craftsmanship, traditional clothing, and the distinguished clothing of prominent Omani figures in East Africa. The Omani dagger section addresses the symbolism of this element as part of the emblem of Oman and examines its history and development from the third millennium BC.
The perfume culture section emphasizes the importance of fragrant perfumes in the daily lives and social occasions of Omanis. This section features rare perfume bottles dating back to 1983, made of crystal, gold, and silver.
The silver craftsmanship section presents silver works and their aesthetic and symbolic meanings. Additionally, the traditional clothing section explores the role of Omani clothing as a representation of religious beliefs and cultural identity.
The State Museum of the History of Religion in Grodno was established in 1977 and is the only specialized institution of its kind in the Republic of Belarus. This museum introduces the history and culture of the Belarusian people and promotes the values of tolerance and respect for cultural and religious diversity.
