Local Agreement and Diplomatic Cooperation
The local ceasefire agreement was signed between Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, and Yana Lantratova, the Russian Human Rights Commissioner, with Melania Trump acting as a mediator in these negotiations. Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, appreciated Melania's efforts in mediation and confirmed that during the ceasefire, the roads leading to Olshanka were cleared of mines and humanitarian aid was sent to the area.
Zelensky also stated that individuals needing evacuation had left the city and surrounding communities, and Ukrainian citizens were transferred through the Chernihiv region to Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Yuri Ushakov, an advisor to the Kremlin, stated that Vladimir Putin has never refused to speak with Zelensky. Ushakov said: "I think he will undoubtedly respond. Putin has never refused dialogue" and added that Zelensky can freely travel to Moscow if he truly desires negotiations.
Cyber Attacks in Ukraine
At the same time, Ukraine and Russia reported cyber attacks on their emergency alert systems. In Ukraine, false alerts about chemical and radioactive threats have been disseminated across the country. Ukraine's air raid alert system was hacked, and similar alerts were broadcast through loudspeakers in the streets of Kyiv.
The Ukrainian Air Force stated that this incident appears to be the result of external interference and assured residents that there is no radioactive threat. Furthermore, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine also announced that the nationwide alert system is functioning normally and all threat signals are being transmitted to regional offices.
