The Indian Rupee opened lower against the US Dollar on Monday, and analysts expressed concerns about a cautious short-term outlook. These fluctuations have arisen particularly due to increased regional tensions in the Middle East and ongoing tariff pressures from the United States on India.
Fluctuations and Future Predictions
The Rupee reached a rate of 95.82 against the US Dollar at the start of trading and was trading at 95.78 at 10:34 AM. Last week, this currency even reached 96.10, raising concerns about further fluctuations. K.N. Dey, a currency expert, emphasized that fluctuations will continue due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East and tariff pressures from the United States on India.

Impact of Oil Prices and Central Bank Actions
Dey noted that India cannot disregard Russian oil while remaining under US tariff pressures. Additionally, considering the potential bank strike from September 28 to October 2, there will only be one working day next week. According to him, the intervention of the Reserve Bank of India in the currency market to prevent unnecessary fluctuations will continue, and the Rupee may soon return to levels of 95.20 to 95.30.
Poonamudi R., CEO of Enrich Money, also mentioned that the Rupee has breathed a little with falling oil prices and is trading below the 95.80 level against the Dollar in early trading. However, this currency is still significantly sensitive to oil prices, global yields, and foreign investment flows.
Meanwhile, the USD/INR rate is testing the support area of 95.70 to 95.80 and is trading 0.12 percent lower today with a slight decrease. Poonamudi stated that immediate resistance is in the range of 96.00 to 96.10, and if it breaks sustainably above this area, the path to the next resistance at 96.40 to 96.50 will open.
Currently, the volatility of the Indian Rupee will remain cautious in the short term, and any sustained movement above 96.00 could lead to further weakening of this currency.
