Gulf Countries; On the Brink of Economic Vietnam

توسط تحریریهٔ خبرگزاری خلیج نیوز 2 دقیقه زمان مطالعه 0

Ongoing wars and conflicts in the Middle East, especially in the Gulf countries, can turn into a dire economic legacy. This legacy will affect not only current generations but also future generations. While conflicts continue, countries must pay attention to the fact that the economic costs of these tensions can far exceed military costs.

Costs of War; A Burden on the Economy

Military conflicts destroy economic infrastructure and lead to a decrease in foreign investments. This issue becomes particularly critical for Gulf countries that rely on natural resources and oil revenues. When war and tensions persist, investor confidence in these countries significantly declines, jeopardizing their economic growth.

Moreover, the military and security costs that Gulf countries incur due to tensions can impact social and health budgets. Instead of investing in infrastructure projects and social welfare, financial resources will be spent on ensuring security and strengthening military forces. As a result, the daily lives of people will be affected, and social dissatisfaction will increase.

Long-term Economic Consequences

Although countries may seem to have financial and military support from major powers in the short term, in the long run, this approach can turn into an economic Vietnam for them. When the conflicts come to an end, Gulf countries will have to grapple with the economic repercussions. Unemployment, a decrease in living standards, and social inequalities may be among the consequences of this situation that will plague these countries for years to come.
