Harry Kane, the 33-year-old striker for Bayern Munich, claimed the title of the best football player in the world at the Ballon d'Or 2023 ceremony held in London. This success makes him the first English player to win this award since Michael Owen in 2001.
Harry Kane's Path to Success
Kane's victory makes him the fifth English player to win the Ballon d'Or. Before him, Stanley Matthews in 1956, Bobby Charlton in 1966, and Kevin Keegan in 1978 and 1979 had received this title. Additionally, Denis Law from Scotland in 1964 and George Best from Northern Ireland in 1968 are other winners of this award from Britain.
