The Innovation Initiative celebrated the graduation of the first group from the 'Hero's Journey' educational program for individuals with autism spectrum disorder on Sunday with a ceremony. This program is designed to develop creative and professional skills and expand job opportunities for these individuals.

Details of the Educational Program

The educational program, supported by Dr. Amal Al-Huwaileh, Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Children, was held over a week for 14 participants in storytelling and character creation and design, culminating in the production of a short film using artificial intelligence tools. Local and international experts supervised the training. The participants' works will be shared on social media and showcased in cinemas.

Goals and Future of the Innovation Initiative

The Innovation Initiative was launched as a national initiative in Kuwait on October 25 and includes educational programs, local and international conferences, creative spaces, and awareness campaigns to empower neurodivergent individuals creatively, professionally, and economically.

Dr. Khalifa Al-Haila, Deputy Director General of the Disabled Affairs Organization, emphasized the importance of discovering the talents of individuals with autism and providing effective opportunities for their participation during the ceremony. He stated that this initiative is an example of the shift from care to empowerment through art, technology, and innovation, highlighting the role of public-private partnerships in transforming education into employment.

Manal Al-Gharbali, founder of the Innovation Initiative, announced that this program is the result of over two years of work and development, and the participants' works will be used in an awareness campaign. The initiative is also collaborating with private sector partners to provide jobs for some of the graduates.

Dr. Mohammed Al-Jassar, Secretary General of the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters, emphasized the council's commitment to supporting talents through cultural and creative initiatives. Eng. Janan Al-Zamel, Acting Secretary General of the Public Endowments Foundation of Kuwait, stated that this program is a blend of education, empowerment, and creative production, conducted as a collaboration between the foundation and MB Vision studios.

Fawz Fahad Al-Sabah, a production partner in this initiative, praised the progress of the participants and the collaboration of government entities, the private sector, families, experts, and trainers. The ceremony included showcasing the creative works of the participants and honoring the graduates.
