The limited edition paddle racket designed with inspiration from Kuwait's cultural heritage captured the attention of players and spectators during the Premier Padel Kuwait Major tournament. This racket, which is presented as the official tournament version by the Spanish brand NOX, features traditional Sadu patterns and other details related to Kuwaiti culture.

Attracting Attention in the Semi-Finals

During the semi-finals on Friday, dozens of visitors flocked to the NOX booth to see the AT10 Luxury Genius 18K Alum Kuwait Major racket designed by Agustin Tapia. Abdullah, a Kuwaiti paddle player who has been following the sport for four years, said he purchased three rackets along with his friends. Abdullah expressed, "Kuwait has hosted P1 and FIP World Cup tournaments in recent years, but this is the first time an official racket has been released for Kuwait, and I am very excited." While Abdullah intends to use his racket on the court, some of his friends plan to keep their rackets as collectibles.

Design Features and Materials of the Racket

This racket, priced at 130 Kuwaiti Dinars, is inspired by the traditional Sadu weaving art known for its geometric patterns and symmetrical designs. This art, reflecting the desert environment, was added to UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage in 2025. The NOX logo on the racket's surface includes motifs inspired by Sadu in beige, cream, gold, and black colors. The design also incorporates the geographical coordinates of Kuwait Towers and the tournament logo. Maryam, another Kuwaiti paddle player, commented on the racket's design, saying, "I am very proud to see this racket bearing the name of Kuwait, and I hope the paddle scene in Kuwait continues to grow and succeed."

Paddle rackets differ from tennis rackets due to their solid hitting surface and holes. The choice of racket depends on the player's personal style, and rackets are generally available in three different shapes, each with its own specific features. Round rackets, tear-shaped rackets, and diamond-shaped rackets are designed to meet the needs and abilities of players.

This version of the Kuwait racket combines a carbon fiber surface with a black EVA core, and also showcases features such as a textured surface for spin production and aerodynamic channels to enhance agility. Maryam noted that she has not yet tried the new racket but is looking forward to using it on the court.
