Etihad Rail has commenced trial operations of passenger trains, which is taking place ahead of the official launch of passenger train services on Wednesday. This program is part of efforts to enhance readiness, improve the efficiency of the transport system, and provide safe, reliable, and integrated mobility options across the Emirates.
Trial Route and Its Objectives
The trial route extends from Abu Dhabi station to Mohammed bin Zayed City station and then to Al Yalayis station in Dubai. This route helps improve connectivity between the emirates and facilitates the movement of passengers between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

The trial operations aim to assess the readiness of stations, trains, and travel routes, as well as to examine passenger experience, travel convenience, and integration with other transport networks. These evaluations are essential before the official launch of services.
Importance of Al Yalayis Station and New Services
Adhraa Al Mansouri, Executive Director of the Commercial and Support Sector at Etihad Rail, announced that the Abu Dhabi-Al Yalayis route in Dubai is recognized as an important addition to the national transport system. She added that Al Yalayis station is the third railway station in Dubai, completed ahead of schedule and in record time.
Al Mansouri also emphasized that new services will commence following the launch of the Abu Dhabi-Fujairah route on June 30, with connections from Dubai starting Wednesday with 10 daily trips from Abu Dhabi to Dubai and six trips from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah.
She highlighted the importance of Al Yalayis station in Dubai, which is directly connected to the Dubai Metro network via a pedestrian bridge of approximately 400 meters. This allows passengers to access the Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro station and then travel to various destinations in Dubai using the Red Line.
Etihad Rail stations provide integrated facilities for transport options, including parking, taxis, buses, and private transport operators. These services help passengers travel from their starting point to their final destination in the shortest possible time.
Passenger train services consider the needs of various segments of society, including individuals with special abilities, the elderly, families, students, employees, visitors, and tourists, providing a travel experience with features such as comfort, safety, ease of movement, and reduced travel time.
