Max Verstappen, the driver for Red Bull Racing, achieved his first pole position at the Marina Bay circuit during the Singapore Grand Prix. This victory came as Verstappen clocked a time of 1 minute and 31.373 seconds, just 0.054 seconds faster than Charles Leclerc from Ferrari.
Verstappen's Achievements and Competitive Conditions
Verstappen reached this success after winning the sprint race, which was considered a significant achievement for him at this circuit. Previously, Singapore was the only track where Verstappen had not secured a championship win. He stated, "I am very happy to have achieved pole position as it was one of my goals." He also added, "The car was very strong throughout this weekend, and we are moving in a positive direction, so securing this title here is very special for us."

Performance of Other Drivers
Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time Formula One champion, finished in third place and appeared to have a tough competition for pole position in the first two segments of the race. Hamilton recorded a time of 1 minute and 31.529 seconds in Q2 and was aiming for his first pole position since the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix. However, Verstappen was able to showcase his superiority in the first round of Q3 with a time of 1:31.373.
While Verstappen and Hamilton were trying to improve their times, Leclerc made a sudden improvement to secure second place alongside Verstappen in the front row. Kimi Antonelli, the championship leader, finished in fourth place, followed by Lando Norris and George Russell from McLaren and Mercedes in fifth and sixth places, respectively.
Meanwhile, George Russell will start from the last position on Sunday due to a breach of his power unit component limits. He had suffered a technical failure in his engine during the previous race in Bahrain.
In the initial phase, Isaac Hajar, the driver for Racing Bulls, was unable to set a competitive time due to mechanical issues and ended up in the last position. This disruption in Hajar's performance caused the yellow flag to be waved briefly on the track.
In light of these competitions, Verstappen is now looking to complete his successes on Sunday by winning the main race and achieving his first championship at the Singapore circuit.
