The IMF staff mission has started its activities in the Sultanate of Oman from Sunday. This mission is in line with the Article IV requirements of the International Monetary Fund agreements and is hosted by the Central Bank of Oman and the Ministry of Finance. These consultations will continue until November 8.

Details of the IMF Mission's Visit

This visit follows a preliminary mission that took place from June 7 to 15, 2026. During this visit, the mission will meet with several officials, including members of the Central Bank of Oman, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, and the National Center for Statistics and Information, as well as representatives from the private sector and civil society organizations. The aim of these meetings is to comprehensively assess the economic and financial situation of the Sultanate of Oman.

Review of Macroeconomic Issues and Financial Policies

During technical sessions, the IMF team will discuss various topics related to the latest macroeconomic developments and future outlooks with officials and experts. These discussions will include fiscal and monetary policies, financial sector development, structural reforms, and efforts to achieve the "Oman Vision 2040" goals. The main focus of these discussions will be on economic diversification, public and private investments, job creation, supporting private sector growth, and increasing sustainability and resilience against global developments.

These consultations are part of a periodic dialogue between the Sultanate of Oman and the International Monetary Fund, which helps strengthen the exchange of experiences and views on economic developments and future challenges and opportunities. The holding of such consultations reflects the importance of international cooperation in improving the economic and financial situation of member countries.
