A meeting to discuss investment in the 'Duqm Waterfront' project was held in Oman, where the comprehensive plan, components, and investment opportunities of this project were reviewed. This meeting was part of the participation in the 'City October 2026' exhibition at the Oman Exhibition and Conference Center.

Details of the 'Duqm Waterfront' Project

During this meeting, the key features of the comprehensive plan for the project, the types of areas covered, its components in hospitality, residential, commercial, and recreational sectors, and the proposed vision for its phased development were discussed. Additionally, a visual presentation of the project was provided along with a session to discuss investment opportunities, methods of participation in development, market needs, and requirements related to project implementation.

Engineer Ahmed Ali Akak, CEO of the Special Economic Zone Authority Duqm (SEZAD), stated that the 'Duqm Waterfront' project represents the expansion of an integrated development path that SEZAD enjoys. This project aims to create a coastal destination combining residential, hospitality, commercial, recreational, and tourism uses, thereby improving the quality of life and enhancing Duqm's attractiveness for investment, work, residence, and visitation.

Development Vision and Investment Opportunities

He added that by participating in the 'City October 2026' exhibition, this entity seeks to open new horizons for collaboration with developers, investors, and operators, and is working to introduce the opportunities presented by this project. Given Duqm's advanced infrastructure, its strategic location on the shores of the Arabian Sea, and its connectivity to the airport, port, road network, and existing economic and industrial projects, it will help attract investors.

The 'Duqm Waterfront' project is one of the most prominent projects at the OPAZ booth in this exhibition, presenting the comprehensive plan, components, and investment opportunities as a multi-purpose coastal destination. The comprehensive plan of this project has been developed over an area of approximately 31 square kilometers, with a coastline length of nearly 15 kilometers. This project benefits from diverse natural and geological features, including beaches, rock formations, elevations, and sea views, allowing for the development of diverse and integrated areas and experiences.

The development vision of this project includes hotels, resorts, and residential units, along with commercial, cultural, and recreational facilities, marine activities, and ecotourism projects. Public spaces and services that enhance the quality of life and contribute to the growth of Duqm as an integrated city for business, residence, and tourism are also considered.

Upon completion of this project, it is expected that more than 2,600 hospitality units, over 3,700 residential units, more than 63,000 square meters of commercial space, and cultural and recreational facilities exceeding one million square meters will be available. It is also anticipated that the coastline will attract an average of about 370,000 visitors by 2040.

The General Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones has showcased an opportunity for investment in various urban development and real estate sectors at its booth and is collaborating with the Salalah Free Economic Zone, Khazaen Economic City, and Sohar Free Zone in this regard. The participation of this entity is part of its efforts to highlight the existing opportunities in the areas under its supervision, strengthen direct communication with developers, investors, and operators, and create partnerships that contribute to the development of quality and integrated projects.

It is worth noting that in June, this entity reviewed the comprehensive plan of the 'Duqm Waterfront' project before a group of developers and traders, and its participation in the 'City October 2026' exhibition, which continues until October 8, 2026, provides a broader platform to introduce the project and investment opportunities and to explore partnership prospects with developers, investors, and entities interested in developing integrated urban destinations and projects.
