This program highlights the importance of investing in sports talents as a fundamental component for the future of sports in Oman. The national program targets sports talents across all provinces of the Sultanate of Oman and promotes collaboration among relevant entities and institutions, including educational institutions, clubs, federations, and sports committees. This collaboration will help expand access to talents, identify them, and support their development.

Minister's Statement and Program Implementation Steps
Basil bin Ahmed Al-Rawahi, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth of Oman, stated that the national program for discovering and developing sports talents is one of the strategic projects of Oman Sports 2040. This program is dedicated to investing in Omani sports talents and aims to build a comprehensive system for early talent identification, skill development, and necessary support. This is crucial for preparing a generation capable of effectively competing in international sports events.
The minister also added that the goals of this national program in nurturing promising sports talents require collaboration and integrated work at all stages. He emphasized that community participation is essential and a key partner from the outset of the program. This is an invitation to all community members, athletes, and sports enthusiasts to contribute their suggestions for the ideal name of this program in defining its identity.
The ministry has also launched a social campaign to choose a short name for the program titled "National Program, and we choose the name together." The ministry invites community members, athletes, and sports enthusiasts to participate in selecting the program's name through a special electronic form. This selection process focuses on names that reflect the identity and national message of the program and are memorable and relevant to the community.
The national program for discovering and developing sports talents is designed as an integrated national system for identifying sports talents. This program includes three distinct phases: the first phase, short-term (2025–2026), focuses on establishment and launch; the second phase, medium-term (2026–2030), focuses on activation and expansion; and the third phase, long-term (2030–2035), focuses on empowerment and sustainability. This project includes a national supervisory committee, talent identification centers in the provinces, a talent identification licensing program, and a scholarship program for outstanding athletes.
