The Unified Admission Center of the Ministry of Education in Oman has started registration for the second round of admissions for the academic year 2026/2027 today, October 18. This round includes 2,894 new and vacant seats in educational institutions in Oman and abroad.
New Opportunities for Students
Registration will continue until October 24, providing another opportunity for eligible students to compete for seats that remained vacant after the first selection. This shortage of seats has arisen due to insufficient applicants for certain programs or due to students who received admission offers not completing their registration processes.
Educational Programs and Admission Conditions
The available seats include academic programs at Sultan Qaboos University, Oman College of Health Sciences, University of Technology and Applied Sciences, technical colleges, as well as scholarship and grant programs both domestic and international. The Admission Center has published a supplementary guide for students on its website and social media platforms, which includes the available programs and their admission conditions.
Among the key developments in this round is the introduction of engineering scholarships for students enrolled in technical and vocational programs at technical colleges, providing them with more opportunities to continue their studies in engineering.
This second round allows Omani students who obtained a general diploma or its equivalent in the academic year 2025/2026 and have not previously registered in the unified admission system to apply. Additionally, students who did not secure a seat in the first selection or withdrew from an educational institution after registration can apply. Students who pay their own tuition fees may also apply, provided they meet the specified conditions.
Applicants who have secured a study seat and completed the registration process are not eligible to compete in this round. Furthermore, students with equivalent or international qualifications must upload copies of their academic transcripts, identification cards, and equivalency certificates through their registration pages.
The Admission Center emphasizes that applicants must re-register for all programs they wish to compete in, as previous options will not be automatically transferred to the second round. For programs at Sultan Qaboos University, foreign scholarships and grants, health specialties, and specific educational specialties, applicants must have a competitive average equal to or higher than the lowest competitive average accepted in the first selection and must also meet all other admission conditions.
Admission tests and personal interviews for programs that require them will be held from October 28 to November 1, 2026. The results of the second round of admissions will be announced on the evening of November 3. The Admission Center urges eligible students to review the student guide and check the program conditions and adhere to the registration dates and admission procedures to ensure their applications are completed correctly.
