Growth of Joint Investments
Registered investments with Angolan participation in Oman have seen significant growth in recent years. The number of companies with Angolan participation has increased from one company in 2023 and 2024 to four companies in 2025. Additionally, the number of shareholders has risen from one to six, and the registered capital has increased from 24,000 Omani rials to 74,000 Omani rials.
These investments are primarily concentrated in the construction, professional and commercial activities, as well as the maintenance of vehicles and motorcycles. The energy and mining sectors are among the main areas that could contribute to expanding economic cooperation and investment between Oman and Angola.
As part of strengthening financial cooperation, the establishment of the African Bank of Oman in April 2026 in the capital of Angola, Luanda, was announced. This move could facilitate trade and investment exchanges between the two countries and provide new opportunities for private sector cooperation.
The official visit of Angola's President, João Lourenço, to Oman in December 2024 is also considered a milestone in bilateral relations and led to the signing of an agreement to purchase a stake in the Catoca and Luaila mines in Angola.
The development of these relations through reciprocal visits and meetings of officials and representatives from both countries reflects a mutual interest in strengthening cooperation and investments.
