Sahibzada Farhan, captain of the Pakistan national cricket team, has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new record for the most runs in a T20I tri-series. He surpassed the previous record of 229 runs set by Abhishek Sharma of India against Afghanistan earlier this year, with a total of 238 runs. This record was achieved despite Pakistan losing their third and final match in the series against Sri Lanka by eight wickets.
Farhan's Performance in the T20I Series
In this series, Farhan scored 76 runs off 47 balls in the third match, marking his third consecutive half-century. This performance brought his total to 238 runs and earned him a new title in the history of Pakistani cricket. Additionally, Klemont Munro from New Zealand ranks third on this list with 223 runs against the West Indies in the 2023-24 series. David Warner from Australia and Hazratullah Zazai from Afghanistan follow with 217 and 204 runs, respectively.

Final Match and Pakistan's Defeat
In the final match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Sri Lanka successfully chased down Pakistan's total of 168 runs with 17 balls remaining. Kaval Mendes played a key role in this victory, scoring 87 runs off 47 balls and was named Player of the Match. However, the defeat in this match did not affect the overall series result, as Pakistan had already secured the series championship with decisive victories in the first two matches. Pakistan won the first match by four wickets on October 9 and the second match by 82 runs on October 11.
After the match, Farhan stated that the Pakistan team followed the same approach in the final game as they did in the first two matches. He emphasized the importance of maintaining consistency and capitalizing on their good form, saying, "We set a great target in the first two matches, and we had the same plan today, but it's cricket, and anything can happen. Our effort is to maintain consistency. Whenever I perform well, I focus more on doing better in the next game. It's cricket, and you're not always in form, so I'm looking to capitalize on this form."
On the other hand, Sri Lanka captain Kaval Mendes highlighted the team's improved performance in bowling and fielding, expressing satisfaction with his and Kamindu Mendes' performances in the eight-wicket victory. He stated, "We bowled really well in the middle of the game today. The fielding was also better, and the batting was excellent. Kamindu (Mendes) played really well after the powerplay, and I did too. We performed well in all three aspects."
