Lulu Hypermarket in Qatar, along with the Philippine Embassy, held the "Recyclers Union – Completing the Cycle with Smart Recycling" event yesterday at the D-Ring Road branch. This event aimed to promote responsible recycling and environmental awareness, bringing together the Filipino community and sustainability partners.
Opening with the Presence of Distinguished Officials
This initiative was launched in the presence of Mr. Mardomel Selo de Melikur, the Philippine Ambassador to Qatar, and Mr. Shanawas, the Regional Manager of Lulu Hypermarket Qatar. Representatives from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Earthna Foundation, Lulu Management, and members of the Filipino community also attended the ceremony.
Developing Environmental Awareness
During the visit, the ambassador toured the Philippine Embassy's exhibition booth dedicated to showcasing the embassy's initiatives and efforts in promoting environmental awareness and sustainability. He also visited the eco-friendly sections of Lulu Hypermarket, highlighting sustainable products and environmentally responsible shopping choices. Additionally, reverse vending machines for collecting plastic bottles and aluminum cans, as well as special facilities for collecting electronic waste, were also showcased.
