The Royal Academy of Management Oman (RAM) has recently launched a Leadership and Logistics program in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology. This program is designed to prepare senior leaders from both public and private sectors to lead Oman’s logistics sector during times of rapid change.

Details of the Leadership and Logistics Program

The program includes 30 leaders from public and private sectors who will participate over 12 days in three training modules. Participants include directors general and their deputies from government entities as well as leaders from the private sector at equivalent levels. Given the increasing complexities of supply chains and their rapid changes, this program provides leaders with the necessary strategic, commercial, and operational perspectives to anticipate challenges, improve organizational performance, and maintain the competitiveness of the logistics sector in line with Oman Vision 2040.

Strategic Collaborations and Program Goals

Dr. Ali Qasim Al-Lawati, President of the Royal Academy of Management, emphasized that RAM's strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology is based on a strong belief that investment in logistics infrastructure must align with investment in the leadership capabilities essential for guiding it. This collaboration symbolizes organizational synergy and the principle of working as a unified government team. This model can also be applicable in other national priority sectors.

The Leadership and Logistics program provides an opportunity to develop a new leadership perspective that links daily operational decisions with national priorities. The program emphasizes shifting the focus from cost management to value creation and encourages leaders to look beyond their organizations to the broader ecosystem. The combination of strategic insight with a comprehensive understanding of the logistics ecosystem enables participants to interpret rapid geopolitical, commercial, and technological changes and turn them into opportunities to enhance national competitiveness and advance the goals of Oman 2040.

Sena Al-Basidi, the program supervisor, explained that the design of this program focuses on creating a unified leadership perspective among participants, integrating strategic, commercial, and operational dimensions, and enhancing their ability to understand the interconnections between various components of the logistics ecosystem. The program covers various areas including strategic leadership in logistics, commercial understanding and value creation, supply chain excellence from start to finish, stakeholder and ecosystem leadership, as well as awareness of the global and geopolitical market.

With the Leadership and Logistics program, RAM continues to strengthen specialized national leadership in strategic sectors for the Sultanate of Oman. This program supports a competitive, resilient, and future-ready logistics sector, serving the long-term goals of Oman 2040.
