The Royal Academy of Management (RAM) Oman has completed its executive program in local management and continues its commitment to developing national leadership and advancing sustainable development across the provinces of Oman. This closing event was held under the patronage of HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar.

Program Objectives and Content

This program brought together 25 local management leaders in an integrated executive learning experience. Its aim was to enhance the readiness of these leaders to effectively contribute to empowering the provinces and achieving the goals of Oman Vision 2040. The program addressed topics such as development planning, project management, leadership, effective management, sustainable development, and local investment by combining contemporary management knowledge with practical application.

Additionally, discussions on innovation, emerging technologies, stakeholder management and partnerships, principles of local management, strategic planning, investment mapping, and adopting innovative solutions to support digital transformation were also covered in this program.

Comments and Achievements

Dr. Ali Qasim Al Lawati, President of the Royal Academy of Management, stated that this program aims to create a decentralized administrative structure that enhances service delivery and development outcomes in the provinces. He added that this program aligns with RAM's commitment to preparing national leaders capable of leading local development efficiently and effectively.

Empowering local leaders, according to Al Lawati, is essential for advancing decentralization and enabling provinces to leverage their capabilities and resources for sustainable development. He also explained that RAM's specialized executive programs go beyond knowledge transfer, focusing on building practical and actionable capabilities that improve administrative practices and enhance performance.

Dr. Fatiha Abdullah Al Rashdi, Vice President of Programs, highlighted the importance of this program in developing leadership capabilities in local management and development, describing it as a milestone in providing an integrated practical learning experience. She emphasized that this program has created a dynamic platform for exchanging experiences and interacting with development priorities related to local management.

At the end of the program, an exhibition was held where participants presented practical projects developed during the program. These projects included "Circuit," which offers sustainable solutions for converting fish waste in Sinaw into economically valuable products; the Earthen Architecture Science Center, dedicated to preserving and maintaining earthen architecture through research, education, testing, and consulting; and the Qimam Adventure Center, which provides integrated mountain tourism experiences in the Al Batinah South Governorate.

Participants expressed that this program has significantly contributed to their professional development. Engineer Siyam Al Miyahi from the Al Batinah South Governorate stated that this program has enhanced her skills in analysis, strategic planning, feasibility studies, impact measurement, and partnership building. She also noted the role of this program in strengthening her ability to turn local challenges into opportunities for sustainable development.
