Shai Hope, captain of the West Indies national cricket team, stated after the 2-2 draw series against India that the team's performance in this series clearly shows its progress and added: "Success is not necessarily limited to series victories."
Competitive and High-Scoring Series
This T20I series was one of the most competitive and high-scoring series in recent times, ultimately ending disappointingly as the fifth match was canceled due to rain after just 7.4 overs. With no possibility of a result in this match, the captains of both teams, Shreyas Iyer and Shai Hope, shared the award, as both teams performed well in the first four matches.

However, the West Indies remain in search of a victory in a bilateral series in India, with their last success dating back to the 2002-03 tour, where they finished the ODI series 4-3.
Team Performance Analysis
Hope went on to analyze the team's performance and emphasized the importance of the 2-2 draw in this series. He said: "We haven't won a series here in 20 years. Reaching this stage in the series reflects our efforts as a unit. Success does not require series victories, and the progress of the players is commendable."
Hope also praised the team's bowling unit, particularly mentioning Shamar Springer, Keemo Paul, and Roston Chase, who emerged as the top wicket-takers in this series. Springer took seven wickets, Paul took eight wickets, and Chase took six wickets. Paul also achieved five wickets in the previous match in Hyderabad, helping the West Indies defend a total of 248 runs.
Hope, who was named "Player of the Series," emphasized the importance of self-belief and maintaining consistency in his approach. He scored two centuries in this series and has a total of four centuries in ODI and T20I formats.
In the fifth T20I match, the West Indies opted to field after winning the toss. India posted an entertaining total in this rain-affected match, with Ishan Kishan scoring 30 runs off 10 balls and Naman Dhir finishing with 24 runs off 6 balls. Shamar Springer and Keemo Paul each took two wickets for the West Indies.
