The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the Republic of India held an interactive and high-level meeting to discuss the existing investment and business opportunities for Indian companies and investors in Sohar Port and the Free Zone. This meeting was held in collaboration with Sohar Port and the Free Zone, as well as the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
Strengthening Economic Partnership between Oman and India
During this meeting, the importance of strengthening the economic partnership between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of India was emphasized, and the necessity of increasing Indian investments in the industrial, logistics, and manufacturing sectors in Oman was discussed. The strategic advantages of Sohar Port and its related logistics service network were also highlighted, which can facilitate access to regional and global markets.

Investment Opportunities and Joint Collaborations
His Excellency Ambassador Issa bin Saleh Al-Shibani, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman in India, pointed out the importance of establishing direct communication between the Indian business community and the relevant investment institutions in Oman, stating that Oman is an attractive destination for Indian companies looking to expand their operations and access new markets.
Additionally, Haitham bin Saif Al-Amri, Senior Business Development Manager at Sohar Port and the Free Zone, announced that the volume of investments in this area reaches approximately 30 billion US dollars, and the loading volume at this port exceeds 75 million tons. He emphasized that this area is a comprehensive platform for establishing, developing, and sustainable economic growth.
Furthermore, Hitendra Mehta, Chairman of the National Council of Special Economic Zones and Industrial Areas of India, referred to the importance of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between Oman and India, stating that this agreement opens new horizons for Indian companies to exploit the existing opportunities in Oman.
In conclusion, the meeting reviewed the successful investment experiences of the Jindal Group in Oman and emphasized the importance of continuing to hold such interactive meetings that allow the Indian private sector to directly familiarize itself with investment opportunities in Oman.
