Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman, today visited the diamond hub located in the capital of Botswana, Gaborone, accompanied by President Duma Gideon Bekoe of the Republic of Botswana. This meeting was held to review the activities and capabilities of the diamond hub and reflects the close relations and economic cooperation between Oman and Botswana.
Review of the Activities of the Diamond Hub
Upon his arrival at the diamond hub, Sultan Haitham was welcomed by Bogolo Joy Kenewendo, the Minister of Mines and Energy and the Director General of the hub. During this visit, the Sultan of Oman became acquainted with the activities and capabilities of the hub and examined the processes involved in the diamond industry and the roles of this hub in the fields of diamond separation and evaluation.

Subsequently, Sultan Haitham visited the main facilities of the hub and became familiar with the technical operations and technologies used in various stages of production. He listened to explanations regarding the technical and specialized capabilities of the hub and closely observed the production processes.
Appreciation and Signing of Cooperation Agreement
At the end of this visit, Sultan Haitham graciously noted in the distinguished guests' book and expressed gratitude to the hub's officials for their efforts and hard work. He wished them success and progress and referred to the important work and efforts of the hub in the mining sector.
The Sultan of Oman also received a commemorative gift presented by the hub on the occasion of this visit and, in return, gifted a commemorative item to the hub. During this visit, a cooperation agreement regarding mineral exploration was also signed, emphasizing the collaboration between the two countries in this field.
This visit not only demonstrates the friendly relations and close cooperation between Oman and Botswana but will also contribute to strengthening collaborations in the diamond industry and mineral resources. Especially since the diamond hub in Botswana has become one of the important global centers in the diamond industry.
