Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, announced that the United States has proposed that the United Arab Emirates host a tripartite meeting with Ukraine and Russia. The goal of this meeting is to explore ways to end the war that began in February 2022 with Russia's military invasion of Ukraine.
Details of the Proposed Meeting
Zelensky stated in a WhatsApp press conference: "The American side has suggested... that a technical-level meeting be held in a tripartite format." He also noted that the United States is expected to announce the date of this meeting, with the UAE being proposed as a possible venue for the gathering.

This meeting was proposed following a conversation that Zelensky had with Joe Biden, the President of the United States, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. In these discussions, both sides explored ways to end the war.
Emphasis on Diplomacy and Cooperation with Allies
Following these discussions, Zelensky announced that Ukrainian negotiators had met with their American counterparts and reviewed specific details. He added: "We will share these details with European parties, and the Americans will also talk to the Russians. We will return to these negotiations within ten days with a new perspective or outcome."
The Kremlin also announced on Friday that a tripartite meeting with Ukraine and the United States may soon be possible. This diplomatic cooperation reflects ongoing efforts to reduce tensions and find peaceful solutions to the current crisis.
Zelensky also urged Biden to raise the issue of the Ukraine war in his meeting with Xi Jinping, the President of China, who is currently in the United States. He is still awaiting feedback from the American team, especially regarding efforts to reduce tensions before the winter season.
The President of Ukraine warned his European partners that Russia would continue its hybrid attacks against them and stated that Ukraine is ready to provide assistance to these countries. Meanwhile, the Kremlin has denied any connection to recent sabotage actions in European countries.
