Oman's GDP in the second quarter of 2026 grew by 5.1% to approximately 9.9 billion Omani Rials (OMR). This figure, compared to 9.4 billion Omani Rials in the same period of 2025, indicates significant economic progress for the country.

According to preliminary data released, oil activities in Oman increased by 14.7% in the second quarter of 2026, reaching approximately 3.4 billion Omani Rials. This notable growth in the oil sector reflects a significant improvement in global oil prices and demand. In comparison, this figure was around 3 billion Omani Rials in the second quarter of 2025.

Details of Economic Activities
The data also indicate a 2.3% increase in agricultural and fishery activities, reaching 325 million Omani Rials in the second quarter of 2026. This figure, compared to 317.8 million Omani Rials last year, indicates a positive trend in this sector.
However, industrial activities saw a decrease of 1.5%, reaching approximately 1.9 billion Omani Rials, down from 2.0 billion Omani Rials last year, indicating challenges in this sector. This decline may be due to fluctuations in demand and production costs.
On the other hand, service activities also increased by 1.5%, reaching approximately 4.6 billion Omani Rials, compared to 4.5 billion Omani Rials in the second quarter of 2025, indicating improved conditions in this area. The growth of the service sector can be seen as a sign of improved economic conditions and increased demand in society.
Overall, the 5.1% growth in Oman's GDP in the second quarter of 2026 reflects the country's ongoing efforts to improve economic conditions and diversify income sources. This positive trend could have beneficial implications for Oman's economic future and help increase foreign investments and strengthen economic infrastructure.
