France, led by Emmanuel Macron, its President, has announced that military forces and defense systems will soon be sent to Saudi Arabia to protect the port city of Yanbu, which plays a key role in energy transportation.

Protecting Yanbu from Threats

In a television interview, Macron detailed this action and emphasized that the aim of this deployment is not to engage in any conflict, but merely to protect this location. He also referenced the rising global oil prices and stated that the alternative route for Saudi oil exports from Yanbu is under missile attacks from Iran-backed Houthis.

Impacts of Potential U.S. Sanctions

In this discussion, Macron referred to the potential ban on diesel exports by the United States, describing it as "catastrophic." He emphasized that this issue could negatively impact the global economy as well as the economy of the United States. At the same time, Macron expressed ignorance regarding reports of threats from drone attacks from the Mediterranean Sea, which the CIA has warned about, stating that such information has not been communicated to French security services.

Macron also warned about the increasing threats from Russia against European countries, stating that France may face attacks similar to the failed attack on Leipzig Airport. He has gathered leaders of French political parties at the Élysée to discuss these threats and has ordered the development of a plan to protect critical infrastructure against cyber and drone attacks.

The President of France emphasized that Russia's goal is to intimidate Europe and undermine the continent's resolve to support Ukraine. While Moscow claims that Europe's accusations of hybrid attacks are baseless, Macron pointed to the internal and international challenges that France is facing.
