Microsoft has developed Copilot into a comprehensive AI platform in the workplace, offering new capabilities for automating tasks, building applications, and seamless access to Office tools. The company announced on Friday that the goal of this change is to enhance the user experience from querying and answering with AI to delegating and completing complex tasks.
Introduction of New Copilot Features
Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, announced the launch of these features on the social platform X, describing Copilot as an "operating system for work" that includes various models, forms, and tasks. Nadella added that this update includes the integration of Autopilot, Code, Home, and Office along with the integration of Copilot in Teams and the Today experience.

New Features and Advancements
The new Copilot application with the Home feature enables the integration of Chat and Cowork. Additionally, the Code feature allows users to create applications and workflows using natural language. Autopilot is designed as a permanent AI agent that can perform tasks without the need for constant prompting. These tools will be released in the coming weeks through the Frontier program.
Furthermore, Microsoft allows users to directly edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations through Office in Copilot. This feature helps users keep tasks synchronized between Copilot and Office applications.
The Code feature is designed so that non-developers can also create applications, dashboards, trackers, automations, and workflows through natural language commands. Additionally, Autopilot acts as a digital collaborator that can monitor channels and manage repetitive tasks.
The Today feature allows users to have an active command center among emails, calendars, Teams topics, and tasks. This feature is expected to enter private preview in October, while Copilot in Teams will also be available by the end of September.
