Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim, the leader of the Shia in Bahrain, in a statement released today, Friday, emphasized the importance of the people's support for imprisoned religious scholars. He announced that the Bahraini people must stand with the religious scholars on November 8 (this coming Sunday) and support them. These distinguished scholars, including Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Sheikh Muhammad Sanqour, Sheikh Ali al-Sadadi, and Sheikh Mahmoud al-Aali, are recognized as the most esteemed scholars in Bahrain.
The Necessity of the People’s Support for Religious Scholars
Ayatollah Qassim further added: "In addition, a number of diligent elites among the leading students of religious sciences are also among them, which is a great source of hope." He emphasized that the Bahraini people should stand by the scholars in gratitude for their loyalty to the people and express their support for them. This religious leader stated: "Just as the scholars have been loyal to the people, the people must also remain loyal to the scholars."

Consequences of the Trial of Religious Scholars
Ayatollah Qassim, referring to the trial of religious scholars on November 8, stated that if the government's policy aligns with justice, the outcome should be the recognition of the scholars' status and acknowledgment of their role in serving the homeland and society. He added: "Preserving human dignity and valuing justice and all the noble values upon which life is based is of great importance, and in their absence, the welfare of society is at risk."
The leader of the Shia in Bahrain also stated that if the government's policy continues to deviate from the path of justice, the responsibility for the physical and mental health of the tried scholars will fall on the people. Ayatollah Qassim presented two essential matters for the Bahraini people: first, a serious and continuous demand for the protection of the scholars' health, and second, adherence to the peaceful methods that have always been the tradition of these great scholars.
Following this statement, Bahraini citizens took to the streets in various locations to protest against the continued detention of religious scholars in the Al Khalifa government's prisons. These developments reflect the depth of the concerns of the Bahraini people regarding the situation of religious scholars and human rights violations in the country.
