The Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, announced the continuation of his country's mediation efforts between the United States and Iran, emphasizing that the main goal of these efforts is to prevent escalation of the crisis in the region. According to him, the United States is seeking a solution to the existing issues, which indicates no change in Washington's willingness to reach an agreement.

Significant Progress in Negotiations

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani stated in his press conference that significant progress has been made in negotiations between the two countries and expressed confidence that an agreement can be reached. He added: "We cannot wait for a complete agreement; we hope to reach a good agreement." These statements reflect Qatar's willingness to play a mediating role in regional and global crises.

Security Situation in the Region

Meanwhile, Iranian news agencies have reported that two missiles have hit Qeshm Island, although official information on the extent of potential damages has not been released. While the United States has not announced any attacks on targets inside Iran, it is expected that pressures and tensions will increase after the midterm elections in the United States. Iran has also repeatedly stated that in the event of new attacks, it will respond and target American and Israeli interests in neighboring countries.

On the other hand, Iran has proposed a seven-day plan to resolve the crisis since last September, which has so far been rejected by the Donald Trump administration. This plan includes lifting the blockade on Iranian ports, releasing assets, and establishing an Iranian-backed route through the Strait of Hormuz. If this plan is accepted, Iranian officials have stated that the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened to commercial vessels.

Given the current situation and existing tensions in the region, Qatar's efforts as a mediator to reduce tensions and find diplomatic solutions could play an important role and contribute to stability in the Gulf. This comes as regional countries are deeply concerned about the potential consequences of developments in the United States and their impact on their security and stability.
