The Bahraini government stated in an official statement that any proposals regarding navigation in the Strait of Hormuz should be made with the participation of all Gulf Cooperation Council countries. This strait, as one of the main maritime routes in the world, holds significant importance in international trade and regional security.

Condemnation of Houthi Attacks

In this statement, the Bahraini government emphasized the necessity of adhering to international laws and condemned the recent Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia. These attacks not only pose a threat to regional security but can also undermine the economic and political stability of neighboring countries. Bahrain stressed that any arrangements regarding navigation in the Strait of Hormuz should be based on the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and approved by the International Maritime Organization.

Cancellation of the Strait of Hormuz Control Meeting

Bahrain also announced that it would not participate in a meeting that was supposed to address the control of the Strait of Hormuz and was to be held in Oman. This meeting was canceled following recent tensions and increased concerns regarding maritime security in the region. Bahrain noted that participation in such meetings should be under conditions that respect the rights of all concerned countries.

The Strait of Hormuz, as one of the key points in global trade, has always been at the center of attention for regional and extra-regional countries. The significance of this strait is such that any change in its security status can have widespread effects on global energy markets and maritime security. For this reason, Bahrain emphasizes the necessity of international cooperation and agreement regarding the management and security of navigation in this strait.

In the current situation, peace and security in the Strait of Hormuz are of special importance to all countries and the international community. Bahrain, as one of the important countries in this region, has always emphasized the effort to create stability and sustainable security and calls for international cooperation in this regard.
