Iran's President, Masoud Pezeshkian, in an interview broadcast on Thursday, stated that the United States must decide whether to end the conflicts in Iran as Tehran has no desire to continue the war.

Pezeshkian's Firm Stance at the United Nations

Pezeshkian delivered a firm speech at the United Nations on Wednesday, telling the world that Iran will not "kneel" before Washington, even as U.S. President Donald Trump referred to the continuation of negotiations between the U.S. and Iran.

He stated, "When we can solve issues through dialogue, we should not resort to killing each other. But with provocations from Israel, this war has been imposed on us. However, we do not want to continue. It is America that must choose whether it wants to end this war or not."

Iran's Proposal for Agreement

The President of Iran emphasized that Iran is ready to reach an agreement with Trump to end this conflict. He referred to the recent ceasefire failure and said, "Why did they decide to destroy it two weeks after signing the agreement?"

Pezeshkian added, "If the current U.S. government wants to reach an agreement within the frameworks of international law, that is good. If not, what difference does it make to us before or after the midterm elections?"

Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, also participated in a meeting with Trump representatives including Stephen Witkoff and Jared Kushner on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, but the talks did not yield immediate results.

Meanwhile, Pezeshkian referred to the war in Yemen and emphasized that the Ansar Allah movement in Yemen, which is widely recognized as being supported by Iran, does not take orders from the Tehran government. He said, "Ansar Allah is responsible for its own actions and does not take orders from us."

Saudi Arabia, accused of supporting the Yemeni government, and its other allies accuse Iran of supporting the Ansar Allah movement, which participates in the battle for control of Yemen by firing ballistic missiles towards this country.
