Muscat, Sultanate of Oman – October 4, 2026 – «Shawy» (shawy.om), the first online bus booking platform between cities in the Sultanate of Oman, announced today that it now offers over 100 routes, including international trips from Oman to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. This initiative allows travelers to easily and online book their tickets for trips to cities such as Riyadh, Mecca, Fujairah, Al Ain, and Sharjah.

Creating a Digital Infrastructure for International Travel

«Shawy» has gathered its services on a single digital platform in collaboration with several transport companies, including Mwasalat and Al-Khald Routes. This platform was launched in March 2026 and allows travelers to search for routes and purchase tickets through its iOS and Android applications as well as its website. The services are offered in five languages including Arabic, English, Persian, Hindi, and Urdu, and include local payment methods.

The Role of «Shawy» in Facilitating International Travel

Mohammed Al-Badhi, one of the co-founders and CEO of «Shawy», stated: “For a long time, intercity travel has been traditionally done through ticket sales windows and phone calls. We understood this gap well and decided to create a digital infrastructure that brings travelers and operators together in one place. With the addition of new routes to Saudi Arabia and the UAE, we are getting closer to our goal of facilitating bus travel in the Gulf region.

Amir Hossein Nozarian, another co-founder and COO of «Shawy», referred to the company's goal of building a sustainable infrastructure and said: “We want to be more than just an app. With the advancement of integration in the Gulf, including the issuance of a joint tourist visa, we intend to be ready for connectivity between additional destinations.

«Shawy» acts as a bridge connecting travelers with transport operators on domestic and international routes as the first online bus booking platform between cities in Oman. This platform is based in Muscat and aims to facilitate travel in the Gulf region using modern technologies.
