The Boeing 737-10, the largest model in the 737 MAX family, has received the necessary certifications from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This establishment allows Boeing to begin the delivery process for this aircraft in the coming months.
Technical and Economic Details of the 737-10
Reports indicate that the issued certification completes the 737 MAX family. This family includes single-aisle aircraft designed to meet various capacity and operational needs of airlines worldwide. The 737-10 can carry up to 230 passengers in its highest seating configuration and offers lower costs per seat compared to other single-aisle aircraft available in the market. Additionally, this aircraft can fly 365 nautical miles farther than its competitors without the need for additional fuel tanks.

Safety Measures and Innovative Advancements
Boeing has announced that the 737-10 includes safety improvements, including an enhanced angle of attack system that will soon become standard across all 737 MAX models. Steven Pope, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airlines, stated: "Completing the certification program paves the way for us to deliver a Boeing aircraft that will set new standards in commercial aviation. The 737-10 offers greater capacity, longer range, and the best seat economics in its class, a platform that will create more value and opportunities for airlines around the world."
More than 30 customers globally have purchased the 737-10, with orders totaling 1555 aircraft, which accounts for over 30 percent of the current order book for the 737 MAX program. Furthermore, the 737-10 is the first commercial aircraft fully established under the 2020 Aircraft Certification, Safety, and Accountability Act (ACSAA).
The certification program includes over 2000 hours of flight testing and 1000 hours of ground testing, along with comprehensive documentation and formal meetings with the FAA. Chris Pin, Vice President and Director of 737 Aircraft Development Programs at Boeing, commented on this process: "Our flight test team executed a thorough and methodical campaign to validate every system. This precision gives us the confidence to move forward with deliveries."
The 737-10 typically carries between 185 to 210 passengers in a two-class configuration and can fly up to 3100 nautical miles. Boeing has also announced that technological advancements have led to a 20 percent reduction in fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions compared to the aircraft that the 737-10 is designed to replace.
The 737 MAX family includes the newly certified models 737-7, 737-8, 737-8-200, 737-9, and 737-10. Boeing has reported 7350 orders for the 737 MAX family by the end of September 2026, with nearly 2500 aircraft delivered.
