The Impact of Ansar Allah Attacks on Oil Exports
On Friday, Saudi Arabia announced that it had closed the pipeline leading to the Red Sea due to drone attacks allegedly originating from Iraq. Regional officials told news agencies that the Ansar Allah group had assisted Iraqi groups in carrying out these attacks. These attacks have led to a sharp decline in Saudi oil exports to Asia, with data from the Kpler monitoring center showing that the country's exports dropped from about 3.4 million barrels per day in June to only 128,000 barrels in August, and although it has reached about 700,000 barrels this month, this figure clearly indicates the negative impacts of the attacks on Saudi Arabia's oil industry.
Faisal bin Farhan also expressed a desire for the member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council to strengthen joint cooperation with various parties to ensure the security of maritime routes and protect the vital interests of all.
