Comprehensive Evaluation of Universities
The 2027 version of this ranking evaluated universities across five different areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, international outlook, and industry connection. Hamad Bin Khalifa University, named after the late Emir's father, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, was established in 2010 with the aim of developing local academic capacities and maintaining an international perspective.
Rapid Growth of Hamad Bin Khalifa University
The ranking of Hamad Bin Khalifa University reflects the rapid growth of this institution, which was established as part of Qatar Foundation's educational and research ecosystem. The university's unique model connects academic programs, research, public policy, and strategic partnerships, strengthening the relationship between the university, government, and industry.
This university has also expanded its academic community and introduced programs that align with Qatar's national priorities and emerging social and economic needs. Ahmad M. Hassanein, the university president, attributed this success to the faculty members, researchers, students, and staff, noting that the extensive environment provided by Qatar Foundation plays a significant role in this achievement.
Hassanein stated: "Our mission is never limited to evaluation criteria; instead, we seek purposeful innovation and the cultivation of local academic capacities." He added that the university's work is designed to serve Qatar's priorities and contribute to the global knowledge economy, emphasizing that a multidisciplinary institution rooted in the Arab region can produce research of international significance.
This ranking places a Qatari university alongside prestigious international institutions while simultaneously strengthening Qatar's position as a regional hub for higher education and advanced research.
