The Maritime Resilience Conference 2026 will be held on October 17, 2023, bringing together leaders from the maritime industry, academics, and international experts to discuss the challenges facing global trade and propose solutions to enhance the resilience of maritime networks.

Conference Goals and Organizing Institutions

This conference is organized by Asa'id Group in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, and the Oman Investment Authority. The aim of this conference is to provide a platform for professional dialogue, exchange of industrial experiences, and examination of practical solutions to enhance maritime connectivity, improve supply chain resilience, and ensure the continuity of international trade.

Participation of Representatives from Various Sectors

This conference will attract representatives from the maritime transport, ports, logistics, technology, insurance, and other sectors related to global trade. The focus of this conference will be on operational challenges and solutions presented using the experiences of the private sector.

Engineer Abdulrahman bin Salem Al Hashimi, CEO of Asa'id Group, stated that the resilience of global trade depends on the ability of maritime networks to maintain connectivity between markets and adapt to changes affecting the movement of goods and dependent supply chains. He added that this conference provides an opportunity for the exchange of practical experiences and examination of common challenges.

Al Hashimi also noted that hosting this conference reflects Oman’s approach to utilizing economic diplomacy and international relations based on trust, dialogue, and cooperation to address issues affecting the global economy. He pointed to Muscat's strategic position on international maritime trade routes and the capabilities of Oman's ports, infrastructure, and maritime services, stating that these factors make Oman a key link between regional and international markets.

This conference is expected to strengthen cooperation among maritime and logistics leaders from various markets and contribute to enhancing the resilience of maritime networks and maintaining the continuity of global trade. Additionally, this conference will aid in the development of proposals and perspectives related to the framework of maritime resilience in Muscat, which supports cooperation and preparedness in the maritime sector.
