The Muscat Arbitration and Mediation Days Conference (MAMD) will be held on December 7, 2026. This news was announced at a press conference held on Monday by the Oman Commercial Arbitration Center (OCAC).

Developing Oman's Position as a Dialogue Center

The conference will take place at the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs in Muscat. Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Mandhari, CEO of the Oman Commercial Arbitration Center, stated that holding this event aligns with efforts to strengthen the Sultanate of Oman's position as a center for dialogue and the exchange of experience in the fields of arbitration, mediation, and dispute resolution methods.

Opportunities for Cooperation and Experience Exchange

He also noted that this conference serves as a platform for bringing together a group of experts and professionals from various countries around the world, providing a space for sharing experiences and discussing developments and modern practices. Dr. Al-Mandhari emphasized that the conference allows public and private institutions to participate in specialized discussions, and the special program to be presented by the Oman Commercial Arbitration Center will include these topics.

He added that the launch of the official conference website (mamd.om) is a milestone in facilitating access to information related to the center's agenda, speakers, events, and sponsorship packages. The center is developing a comprehensive plan that allows institutions, professionals, researchers, and students to benefit from this event.

The "Muscat Arbitration Competition 2026" is considered an important aspect of the center's vision for developing legal expertise. Dr. Al-Mandhari emphasized the importance of enhancing the capabilities of law students in the fields of advocacy, arbitration, and legal research, stating that this is an investment in the future of the justice system and dispute resolution.

Abdulrahman Al-Farsi, an official from the legal technology company "Dikri," which is a partner in organizing the "Muscat Arbitration Competition 2026" alongside OCAC, stated that this annual competition includes participation from law schools and is held in two independent tracks in Arabic and English.

At this press event, five memoranda of understanding (MoU) were signed between OCAC and other entities and stakeholders. This action reflects the center's commitment to expanding the network of collaborations and strengthening institutional partnerships in support of arbitration and mediation initiatives in the Sultanate of Oman.
