India and Bangladesh held an official meeting on Wednesday in Dhaka to discuss and exchange views on improving cooperation in civil aviation and developing air routes. The discussions took place between Dinesh Trivedi, the High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh, and Md. Rashidul Azman Milat, the Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism of Bangladesh.
Multilateral Discussions on Various Topics
Following this meeting, the High Commission of India in Bangladesh announced extensive discussions on various topics including increasing air cargo capacity and developing mechanisms for bilateral cooperation. Trivedi emphasized the importance of strengthening tourism relations between the two countries and expressed hope that the two vibrant democracies would continue their cooperation in various fields.
In this context, Trivedi met with Zayed Rahman, Policy and Strategy Advisor to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, on September 13. During this meeting, the two officials discussed various topics related to bilateral relations and expressed hope that people-to-people relations between the two countries would expand further.
Strengthening Water and Defense Cooperation
Continuing this round of negotiations, Trivedi also met with Shahidul Din Chowdhury Ani, the Minister of Water Resources of Bangladesh. In this session, the necessity of strengthening joint efforts to meet the public expectations of the countries was discussed. The High Commission of India stated: "This meeting emphasized the importance of bilateral communications to achieve the shared aspirations of the people of the two neighboring countries."
Additionally, on September 9, Trivedi met with A K M Shamsul Islam, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh in the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces. These discussions focused on expanding defense cooperation between the two countries, and both officials reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening defense relations.
The High Commission of India also noted that these discussions addressed strengthening existing ties between the armed forces of the two countries and emphasized various issues related to improving defense cooperation.
